Undisturbed---
“The great thing about faith in God is that it keeps a man undisturbed in the midst of disturbances.” – Oswald Chambers
Main Scripture: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Now, that Word is STILL the Word of God no matter what is going on in the world. No matter what we see circulating around us No matter what the particular whirlpool of thought and public opinion is that will try to pull us in, that [the truth of God’s Word] is still there.
Let’s consider the whole passage from 16 – 22: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the Will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit Do not despise prophecy. Test all things; hold fast to what is good, abstain from what is evil.” So let us consider everything that is said and hold fast to what is good and abstain from what is evil: – Action, Passion, Altitude.

3 Points to Help You Navigate Through this Season of Disturbances
In John 17:14-17, Jesus is praying to the Father, and He says, “they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” Church, you are not of the world. He goes on to pray, “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one”. Sometimes I think ‘Man, I would love to just be up a tree somewhere by myself and not pay any rent.’ You know, just get away from all this. I just get tired of it. It gets worrisome. But, Jesus said that He is not asking that we be taken out of the world but kept from the evil one. And then He says, “Sanctify them by Your Truth. Your Word is Truth.
1Corinthians 2:12-16: “Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God. We also speak these things. not in the words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. But the one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no one. For who has known the mind of the LORD, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.” (NASB)
Who has known the mind of the Lord? You see, God needs no instruction from us, but He has given to us the mind of Christ. We are not of the word, we are of a different Spirit. You see, the world does not have the mind of Christ so the world cannot come to the conclusions that Christians come to. The world cannot understand the things of God. The world cannot understand the mind of God nor the things of God. They are going to act like the world because they can only understand according to the spirit of the world.
So, how do we respond? Here’s some practical wisdom:
- We cannot go to social media as our source for News.
- Be careful of the Podcasts you listen to.
- Don’t get sucked into endless conspiracy rabbit holes.
Instead let’s turn to the Scriptures. Let’s look at Micah 6:8
