About Faith Community Church
Faith, Family, and Community — since 1982.
FCC began in living rooms around Wichita and grew into a church family that still gathers around the gospel today.
OUR STORY
From Living Rooms to a Church Family
Faith Community Church was founded in 1982 by Philip Wood under the name Community Discipleship Ministries. He and his wife, Cathy, began the ministry by meeting in homes — with a heart to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) by making disciples in what he called “communities of heaven.”
Over the decades since, FCC has produced dozens of home-based ministries alongside a corporate worship experience. The fellowship still embodies the values of community, mission, and worship — offering home-based discipleship together with vibrant congregational life.
Ultimately, FCC is a community of Christians who celebrate Jesus Christ and proclaim His gospel to the ends of the earth.
WHO WE ARE
One Gospel, Three Words
Our vision: Faith Community Church is a community of Christians who share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Our mission unfolds in three simple words:
HEAR
the gospel of Jesus Christ — received, believed, and treasured together.
NARRATE
God’s work in our own stories — His grace made visible in real lives.
SHARE
our story with others — in faithful mission across Wichita and beyond.
WHAT SHAPES US
Three Values, One Family
Community
Deep, home-based fellowship where discipleship happens life-on-life, not just pew-to-pew.
Mission
A lived-out Great Commission — sharing the gospel from our neighborhoods to the ends of the earth.
Worship
Gathered celebration of Jesus Christ in traditional and contemporary expressions, every Sunday.
